| BBC: "This Is It" - fastest selling tour in history BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Jackson to play 50 gigs at the O2 Michael Jackson will now play 50 dates at London's O2 arena, continuing his farewell residency well into 2010. The 50-year-old has added new shows throughout the first two months of the year, ending on 24 February. Some 360,000 pre-sale tickets have been sold so far and if all 50 dates sell out, Jackson will have sold a million seats for the run of shows. Organisers say the This Is It tour has become the fastest selling in history, with 333 seats sold each minute [BBC got the figure wrong]. Jackson is said to be "thrilled" by the response. Randy Phillips of promoters AEG Live said: "Not only are these concerts unparalleled, these records will never be broken. "We knew this was show business history, but this is a cultural phenomenon." Pre-sale problems Pre-sale tickets for Jackson's first 10 dates sold out on Tuesday but some fans complained of "technical problems" trying to register online. Ticketmaster director Chris Edmonds said demand was "unprecedented". He added: "Unfortunately due to a technical issue, we were unable to facilitate all immediate ticket requests. Apologies to those fans who were unable to log on, but fans should keep on trying to purchase tickets." Additional codes are being issued, the organisers said, with registration being dealt with on a first come, first served basis. Tickets are only being sold to fans who have registered, with the rest of the seats going on sale to the general public from 0700 GMT on Friday. Tickets for the Jackson shows are already being sold on the online auction website eBay. Prices on the site range from £170 to £10,000, but tickets bought directly from the singer's website or Ticketmaster cost up to £75. Jackson, who has won 13 Grammy awards, has said this will be the last time he will perform in the UK. In August and September 2007, Prince played 21 concerts at the O2 arena together with a number of aftershows at its club venue, Indigo. From www.michaeljacksonLIVE.com : RECORD-BREAKING 45 SHOWS SELL OUT PRESALE ALLOCATION! FINAL 5 SHOWS AVAILABLE FOR ON SALE 7AM [GMT] FRIDAY! The ticket allotment for the presale has been sold. Michael Jackson has added five more concerts to his historic return to the stage at London’s O2 Arena, making this a half-century of shows. Tickets are available across all 50 shows for the general sale at 7am, Friday 13th March 2009. Records have tumbled: The biggest audience ever to see an artist in one city. The most amount of people to attend a series of arena shows. The fastest ticket sales in history. By the end of the 50 concerts, 1 million fans will have witnessed one of the greatest musical events in history. The figures speak for themselves - 360,000 tickets sold in 18 hours during the pre sale so far, that is 20,000 tickets per hour, 333 tickets per minute! [even MJLive got the figure wrong *lol*] Michael is said to be ‘thrilled’ by the response and wanted as many fans to share the experience with him as possible. This will be the last chance to see the King of Pop in London, this really is it! ![]()
* indicates dates with the (confirmed) availability of "Thriller Hospitality Package"

| Re: BBC: "This Is It" - fastest selling tour in history Aunque estoy bastante segura, tengo curiosidad por saber si finalmente llenara los 50 conciertos. La preventa esta claro que la iba a llenar aunque haga 60 o 70, pero...lograra vender 20.000 entradas para 50 conciertos? es decir, 1.000.000 de entradas??

| Re: BBC: "This Is It" - fastest selling tour in history Honestamente esto es algo sin precedentes... MJ: Gracias. Diego. |

| Re: BBC: "This Is It" - fastest selling tour in history Cita:
Tranquilo, creo que solo se acabaron los boletos de PRE-VENTA. Lo mas seguro es que hayan destinado cierto numero de boletos de cada fecha para esta, mientras que el resto de venderán el viernes. Si es verdad la noticia, esas 360.000 entradas vendidas estarán repartidas en las 50 fechas...
