Armstrong Williams on Good Morning Ameria this morning and he was of course grilled about his past comments about Michael. he said he was surprised Michael would want to talk to him with the things he said in the past. he said Michael was aware of them and he wanted to contact certain people and try to give him his side of the story. Armstrong said he wanted to step back and be fair and do his homework on the case said he was going out to meet Michael shortly. he said Michael was taking charge he knows if he doesnt he might end up in jail for something he didnt do. He also said the NOI came to him in a time of despair and offer help and he's thankful but he doesnt need them anymore. so they were going to cut back.

I was flipping through channels and saw Armstrong Williams being interviewed on ABC regarding the Michael Jackson case. The person interviewing him read quotes from a column in which he had severely criticized Michael and asked him how he became Michael's new spokesperson.
Armstrong said that he wasn't Michaels spokesperson and that he had only decided to speak on Michael's behalf this past weekend after having a conversation with him. He admitted to being one of MJ's harshest critics and said that he'd heard that Michael wanted to speak with him. He never took that seriously and thought it was just a rumor until Michael's publicist called him and put Michael on the phone.
He said that he was shocked to hear that Michael sounds strong, intelligent and "with it" because he'd always imagined him to be weak, frail and soft-spoken (what's the old saying about people who aassume?). Michael told him that he knew that he was severely critical of him and wanted to reach out to him and just ask him to be fair and a bit more open-minded towards him. According to Mr.Williams, Michael said that he's very aware and in control of everything aroud him. He has to be because he knows that if he isn't he could very well end up in jail as a result of these false allegations. As far as the NOI is concerned, Michael said that his family has known Minister Farrakhan since he was a child and that he took the Minister's offer of suppert at a time when he was very vunerable. He also acknowledged that the minister has been very critical of him as well in the past. The NOI was never "in control" and they'd be less visible in the near future. He said that he was very impressed wth Michael after he spoke to him and that he would take what Michael said into consideration by looking at this case from his side and not going by just what he hears.
Anyway, he was very impressed with Michael after speaking with him and said that he thought it was a great move on Mike's part to try and reach out to people like himself that are very harsh in their criticism. He said this was part of Michael's new team strategy.
