Nov 06, 01: Billboard Comments on Success of "You Rock My World" In USA
Billboard magazine chart expert, Fred Bronson, comments on the success of Michael Jackson's track "You Rock My World" on the USA singles chart:
""You Rock My World" was Michael Jackson's 28th top-10 hit of his post-Jackson 5 career, so it wasn't a failure. Granted, it didn't go to No. 1, but the fact that it made the top-10 surprised a lot of pundits who didn't think it would do that well.
Certainly, if a commercial single had been available, it would have peaked higher, perhaps even at No. 1. I thought it was a huge mistake not to release a single, given that there was no way for anyone to purchase the song in any configuration during the single's height of airplay popularity.
I don't think we can cite the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the United States as a reason for the song's performance. Any artist who had been out of the spotlight as long as Jackson was bound to meet some resistance at radio."
The highest singles chart placement of "You Rock My World" internationally was #1 in France, #2 in UK, #4 in Australia, and #10 in USA.

KEEP MICHAELING!!!!!!!
