LYING FOR A LIVING
Well Folks, Brando is working on what may turn out to be the "piece de resistance" of his long career. He is "teaching" acting "classes" in Los Angeles at the moment. The classes are being attended by such stars as Robert deNiro, Sean Penn, Leonardo DiCaprio, and overrated character actor Jon Voight . Supposedly a movie is supposed to come out of this madness, titled "Lying for a Living." We'll see... But until then, here's a sample of the madness that Brando has been throwing around at these "classes."
According to reports, when word leaked out that legendary Brando planned to hold private invitation-only acting workshops for special VIPs in Hollywood, every star in town was eager to attend. Everyone from Michael Jackson to Sean Penn was there. But the lucky invitees were shocked when the curtain opened to reveal the corpulent star dressed as a woman, complete with red lipstick and a long blonde wig, conducting the improvisation class. No explanation was offered for the star's cross-dressing decision. Marlon Brando has recruited pals Sean Penn, Leonardo DiCaprio and Nick Nolte to star in his forthcoming instructional acting video. The stars will appear in Lying For A Living, which Brando is currently working on at Los Angeles' American Film Institute. Penn admits his friend has picked some odd types to take tuition from the stars in the video. He says, "On the day of the first class he got one guy involved who was going through a garbage bin behind the studio. He got him started in the class, and the guy showed up on time the next day."
Oscar nominee Jon Voight almost walked out on pal Marlon Brando's latest project - when he was confronted by Osama Bin Laden. Voight expressed his discomfort when controversial British movie maker Tony Kaye dressed up as the terrorist leader for part of Brando's new video acting class Lying For A Living. Kaye explained the ruse was "a performance-art piece" meant to teach Brando's students "not to be frightened of terrorism." One bystander, Jod Kaftan, who has since been hired by Brando to write articles about his bizarre acting classes, says, "Jon Voight says he found no humor or purpose in Tony Kaye's outfit, confessing on tape that it made him uncomfortable." American History X director Kaye and the students he brought with him for Brando's masterclasses were "disinvited" to attend the sessions the day after the Osama Bin Laden episode - when Kaye accused students of being boring. Kaye has since told Kaftan, "Marlon Brando should be with the Taliban. I think he'd be very comfortable in that world, with a hundred wives, 14,000 children, no music, and no one's allowed to speak."
