Rick DellaRatta and Jazz for Peace partner with Michael Jackson fans “Celebrate Shamone” and“Make A Better World Foundation” for Benefit Concert to Donate Musical Instruments to Children.
DellaRatta, founder of the Jazz for Peace Foundation, held the first Jazz for Peace Concert in 2002 at the United Nations in New York, bringing together Israeli, Palestinian and American jazz musicians for an international audience. Since then, he has performed concerts for more than 700 organizations worldwide. In addition, Jazz for Peace performs educational programs in schools, and donates musical instruments to underprivileged children (www.instrumentdonation.com).
Jazz for Peace concerts have featured Rick DellaRatta along with such notable jazz artists as Paquito D’Rivera, Victor Lewis, Lenny White, Eddie Gomez, Dave Valentin, Ray Mantilla and many others. DellaRatta’s jazz-influenced orchestral composition, “Permutata,” was recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra. Recently, Rick DellaRatta was included in the Book “Jazz Singers” as one of the top Jazz Vocalists of all time and by The FoundationCenter in their list of the top musician philanthropists of our time along with Bono (U2), Elton John, Peter Gabriel and Sting.
Celebrate Shamone and Make a Better World Foundation are 501c3 non- profit organizations inspired by the humanitarian efforts of the late Michael Jackson. They are proud to join with Jazz for Peace because they both share the same goals in love for kids, music, bringing people together, and making the world a better place. This concert is in association with A Better Community For All (ABC4All) (www.jfp.abc4all.net).
