THE MJ BEAT: THE SCOOP: COURT TV's Diane Dimond, the fearless, gutsy and confident reporter who originally broke the Michael Jackson child molestation story, has another twist on this circus drama: Last month, Dimond interviewed New York attorney Benjamin Brafman, the guy who was recently named as a co-counsel on Jackson's legal defense team, thus joining attorney Mark Geragos.
When Dimond interviewed Brafman he was not involved in the Jackson case at all and she just wanted his candid opinion and thoughts regarding Jackson's attorneys and the handling of his case.
My sources tell me that Brafman did a bangup job in belittling the team that he has now joined and that taped interview will air on Dimond's "Hollywood at Large" program on the Court TV channel on Thursday (locally at 7:30 p.m.).
Brafman can't refute the interview because he is currently under a gag order. In 2001, Brafman won an acquittal for Sean "P. Diddy" Combs on weapons and bribery charges.
Another scoop: The then-13-year-old who claimed Jackson molested him more than 10 years ago -- later, his family settled out of court to the tune of $20 million -- is now a college student and says he will testify against Jackson if he is subpoenaed.
----
