Hello my friends
I've got some terrific news. i took your advice and am hard at work on a Michael Jackson tribute project. ive been running to the studio when i get off from the Tonight Show or after my class on thursday nights or i steal a little time away from being husband and daddy, slip on my artist hat, and get over to jj blair's fabulous Fox Force Five Studio in the hollywood hills , and lay down some tracks. last week smoke was spotted coming out the studio window.
as many of you know, me and the band have been performing BILLIE JEAN live for some time now. roberto montero, my guitarist helped me concoct a pretty cool arrangement of this iconic song that doesnt imitate MJ, and hopefully wouldn't embarrass him either. ive been told by some that when they hear our version live this is the first time they completely understand what the story of billie jean is. that's a pretty great compliment. i love it.
well, it is this time of year that our hearts get kind of heavy thinking about the loved ones we have lost. i am weighed down by the memory of my dear, sweet mother. this will be my sister and brother's first Christmas without Mom and i am not looking forward to that. Thanksgiving was rough. Christmas might be a little harder. i'll bet michael comes to my mind more at Christmas than other times, for many of you.
i decided to roll out the first single from my new project now!!! #get it
the single is BILLIE JEAN and guess what? it will be available on CD BABY 21 DECEMBER!! just in time for Christmas. you can download a couple hundred copies and give them as gifts to all the people you love. i poured my heart into this and i hope you feel that when you put your ears on it.
thank you to all my friends for your great suggestions on what i should record. ive got a few tunes in the can #finished #polished #seewhatimsayin and I'm busting my narrow backside to get this puppy finished so you can own the whole thing. #purchasepleasedontstealmusic
but hey! i still dont know what the title should be though. I'm waiting for you guys to kick it up a notch and send me a great title. HELP A BRUTHA OUT!!
