Judge releases edited warrant in Jackson case
Associated Press
LOS ANGELES - The judge in the Michael Jackson case released a heavily edited warrant that granted police permission to search a Princeton, N.J., Internet service provider as part of their investigation.
The April 2 warrant signed by Judge Rodney S. Melville said investigators had reasonable cause to believe a search of RCN Internet would yield evidence that "tends to show that a felony has been committed or that a particular person has committed a felony."
The warrant did not say who was involved in the alleged felony. The indictment in the case said five people aided Jackson in a conspiracy involving child abduction, false imprisonment and extortion, but their names have not been released and none of the five have been charged.
A call to RCN Internet after business hours Wednesday was not immediately returned.
Jackson, 45, has pleaded not guilty to committing a lewd act upon a child, administering alcohol, and conspiracy to commit child abduction, false imprisonment and extortion
