Response to CBS's 60 Minute Interview with Michael Jackson
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department would like to respond to the comments made by Mr. Jackson in a recent interview that aired on the evening of the 28th of December on network television.
The Department would again re-emphasize that Mr. Jackson was treated with courtesy and professionalism throughout the arrest and booking process. Both his attorney and his personal security thanked the Sheriff's Department for the level of cooperation and professionalism demonstrated throughout the process.
The Santa Barbara Sheriff's Department is a professional organization made up of dedicated men and woman who willingly put their lives on the line every day and deal with difficult and challenging circumstances. While the service of the search warrant at Neverland and the subsequent arrest and booking of Mr. Jackson has generated unprecedented media attention and public interest, Mr. Jackson was afforded courteous and professional treatment consistent with the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Department's organizational standards.
