On December 2, 2003, Rebbie Jackson appeared on the MSNBC show "The Abrams Report", along with guest Jesse Jackson, to discuss the recent allegations against her famous brother, Michael Jackson.
During the interview, Rebbie discussed how the current case has affected Michael, as well as the whole family. When discussing the effects the case has had on the children in the Jackson family, Rebbie said,
"Well, you know, everything is on television, and if its not on TV, its on the radio, so its everywhere you go and so they see that. Its on the news continually. And of course, kids are innocent you might as well say, but then on the other hand, they speak their minds or they speak and say what they hear others say, and they actually-theyre like a parrot you might say, and so, as a result what they do is they bring this to the kids, and they tease them about it because kids can be harsh at times, and as a result these kids are affected greatly by it. They choose to stay at home because they cant contend with it. Its just a little bit too much."
In response to Gloria Allreds comments on wanting to have Michaels children removed, Rebbie said,
"Well, I think she is speaking in the dark. She appears to be always in the media, and its to draw attention to whatever the issue may be at stake at the time and with her. I think shes speaking in the dark because shes very ignorant of what any of us are about. I heard that it was said also that no one in the family would be qualified, or something along those lines. I dont know the exact _expression she used, but she knows nothing about our character, and especially mine for sure. And Im just concerned about everyone thats involved in general, and thats my main reason for speaking right now especially because, as I said earlier and Ive reiterated it so many times, you know, people are human and they have feelings, and they have to live with this. People meaning the children as well as other members in the family, and it affects everyone."
And on Michaels parenting skills, Rebbie added,
"I feel personally that because of what he has done with his career and where he is at and with so many entertainers I have to say as well, you know, sometimes its a matter of self-control. I feel personally knowing when to say no, and when I say know when to say no what I simply mean is that many things may be lawful, but not all things are advantageous. You have a right to be with children. I mean, you know, children are around us all the time, but because of the attitudes that people have with him, he might want to step back and look at that situation and decide, well, maybe because of the way the public views him or what they have said, because I definitely feel that he should think seriously about, you know, decisions made in that area, but as far as his kids are concerned, yes, I think he is a good father. Yes, I definitely do. "

On the same show, Jesse Jackson voiced his opinion on the acts of the DA and the allegations. He went on to say,
"First of all, Michael settled 10 years ago. There was not a charge even 10 years ago. I hear people speaking of the settlement money 10 years ago, no one knows what that was at that time, but for now I am very concerned that child molestation and pedophilia be addressed. So far to go through all of this and not be charged seem to be so wrong. I talked with Michaels mother and father just a few days ago and his mother said you know they ransacked my babys house 10 years ago. They kicked up his vases. A quarter of a million dollars in gold coins have been missing, and, yet, nothing has happened. Now theyre back in there again, and so far there are no charges."
