FID to distribute exclusive interviews with Michael Jackson's parents
London, December 9 2003
Fremantle International Distribution (FID), part of leading international television production company, FremantleMedia, is to distribute exclusive interviews with Katherine and Joe Jackson, the parents of pop superstar Michael Jackson. FID has international distribution rights outside of the US and the UK to the network-hour long programme featuring the interviews, Our Son Michael Jackson.
The programme containing the exclusive interviews has been co-produced by independent production company Shine and Daphne Barak. Executive producers are Elisabeth Murdoch and Andy Auerbach at Shine and Daphne Barak.
This is the first time the parents of Michael Jackson have been interviewed in depth. Conducted only a few days ago, the interviews cover the recent arrest of Michael and the allegations of child molestation against him. The programme also looks at how the family is coping with being under the full glare of the media spotlight. Joe and Katherine express the anguish and torment of the Jackson family at the allegations, and confront his accusers. Michael’s childhood is also explored, and Katherine speaks of her grandchildren. The programme reveals Michael’s home at Neverland as it has never been seen before, as the cameras take viewers on an exclusive tour of the property. Father Joe is also seen celebrating his birthday at Neverland, and a special birthday tribute is paid to him by another of his famous sons, Jermaine.
The interviews are conducted by Daphne Barak, a highly respected and widely syndicated journalist who has previously interviewed other leading international figures. These include: HRH Prince Charles, Mother Teresa, Yasser Arafat, Fidel Castro, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Nelson & Winnie Mandela, Tony Blair, Yoko Ono, Johnny Depp, Elton John, Muhammed Ali, Placido Domingo, Liza Minnelli, Robert De Niro and O J Simpson.
Our Son Michael Jackson will premiere on ABC Network, USA in the 20/20 programme presented by Barbara Walters on Friday 12th December 2003 at 10pm (local time). A version of the programme featuring the interview presented by Katie Derham will be broadcast by ITV1 in the UK on Monday 15th December at 8pm (local time). The international version of the programme featuring the interview is available for international broadcast from 13th December 2003.

Aransay si la entrevista la pasarán por el programa 20/20 ( me imagino que del canal ABC ) más o menos cuando la transmitirán por el canal A&E Mundo :ein: o si alguién sabe la fecha y la hora de transmición le estaré muy agradecida
