“I Took You For Granted”
By Angela Biscoe
May 31, 2010
I took you for granted; oh, how I miss your smile,
For my trip to heaven might be awhile.
I took you for granted; I thought there will be another album,
Thriller, Bad, and History; yea, I got each one.
I took you for granted; I never wrote a letter,
I wondered in my heart if you would get better.
I took you for granted; I thought there will be one more book,
I saw you on TV, I wanted one more look.
I took you for granted; thought one day we would talk,
Just knew in my heart, you would always moonwalk.
I took you for granted; watching you on Soul Train,
Today I wonder just who is the blame.
I took you for granted; I never saw you in concert,
Never brought a ticket, always had to work.
I took you for granted; but this last time I was going to go!
I took you for granted, and then there was no show.
