United hero's daughter to visit Jacko
THE daughter of a former Manchester United star has told how she plans to take her son to visit Michael Jackson at his home - despite revelations in a TV interview.
Jackson - accused of sexually molesting a boy at his home 10 years ago - triggered a storm of controversy this week when he revealed in a TV interview that he likes children to sleep with him in his bedroom.
He insisted he slept on the floor and simply liked the company of children.
Today, Gaynor Morgan - the daughter of former Reds' winger Willie Morgan - revealed they would visit Jackson's 3,000-acre Neverland ranch in California later in the year with the help of family friend, American singer Johnny Mathis.
The 28-year-old from Altrincham said she would have no problem with her 10-year-old son Alex staying at Jackson's home and would be happy for her son to stay there overnight without her.
She contacted Mathis and made the arrangement to visit Neverland after watching the ITV documentary, Living With Michael Jackson - screened on Monday night. In it, Jackson described how he had encouraged a 12-year-old cancer-sufferer to sleep in his bedroom. He told interviewer Martin Bashir how he liked to be with children.
Gaynor said: "I was so outraged by people's insinuations after the interview with Jackson about children, and so impressed by how he had come across, that I said I would love to meet him.
"I spoke to Johnny Mathis about it, who said Michael was a good, loving person - and that was good enough for me, because Johnny is one of the nicest people I have met.

"I'm now planning on taking my son over there later in the year. I would love to stay there, but I would probably stay with Johnny and I would not have a problem with Alex staying at Michael's ranch.
"Alex is really looking forward to going to Neverland and thought nothing of what has been said about Michael and his private life."
Gaynor said she did not believe allegations made against Jackson in 1993 which were dropped after a financial settlement was reached. She admitted the pop star has become "almost child-like", but said she is adamant he still knows right from wrong and would never abuse a child.
Gaynor added: "I think he is probably introverted into his own world. He has blocked out the real world because of the abuse he received as a boy, the allegations against him and the fame.
"In a way, he's put himself back into a child's world. We all think about how nice it would be to be a child again, only Jackson has the money to live that fantasy.
"Papers have made out that he sleeps with the boys, but he said they would sleep in the bed and he would sleep on the floor.
"He is sound enough of mind to know what is right and wrong. I don't believe in the statement there is no smoke without fire, but you can't stop someone from making an accusation.
"If we were in his position, with his money, I'm sure we would have settled out of court like he did when the allegations came to light."
