O'Brien (on screen): First of all, here's what this is not. It's not rumor, tabloid or some phony headline. This is real.
What you're about to see is a law enforcement tape of the mother of Michael's accuser spelling out her story in her own words. She is expected to come face to face with Jackson in court this Friday. The hearing will not be televised, so think of this as your inside look into the Michael Jackson case.
Janet Arvizo: Uh...I was pulling from a heart. I-I have no intelligence. And I will just go with what my heart what to do. And so...and I had to play like everything was okay...
Pat O'Brien (voiceover): She's the mother who dared to take on the Jackson machine. She was interviewed by investigators the summer before the November 2003 raid on Neverland. We are blurring her face and calling her 'Jane Doe' like the court documents to protect her privacy.

The mother was living in East Los Angeles in a tiny apartment that she shared with her three children. It was here the mother says that Jackson representatives showed up at her door one day with a chilling warning, 'Get out of the apartment and get out of the country!'
Janet Arvizo: Okay, one of the reasons was because there was people that were gonna kill the children and me. Um...mostly my children.
Unidentified Male: Who's telling you this?
Janet Arvizo: Um...Michael's people.
O'Brien (voiceover): The mother claims the destination was Brazil.
Janet Arvizo: I didn't want to go...um...to Brazil. <points to the wall. I guess that's Brazil> They wanted me and the kids.
O'Brien (voiceover): She says the warning came in the aftermath of the British documentary on Jackson that showed the singer with her son, triggering the current investigation. Jackson has denied all charges.
"Living with Michael Jackson" included scenes of the pop star holding hands with the 12-year-old and telling the world that there is nothing wrong with innocently sharing your bed with young boys.
"The Insider's" Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter Art Harris obtained the tape of the boy's mother.
O'Brien (on screen): Art, why would she even imagine that anybody would wants to kill her and her kids?
Art Harris: Pat, on the tape, it sounds like this is a mother who felt brainwashed. Remember, this came on the heels of the British documentary that showed her son holding hands with Michael Jackson. It sparked a public furor and the police investigation. And it led the Jackson people--SHE says--to convince her that people were out to kill her, but THEY could protect her.
Janet Arvizo: They didn't want to move my things until they found out that Michael's letters...and...and uh...like um...that he had written...
<fade to black, fade to Michael, cue creepy abandoned forest type wind>
Janet Arvizo: <She gets agitated!> My apartment was meaningless to them until they...I told them about...that there was letters there from Michael...
O'Brien (voiceover): And she says there were other things like a stuffed animal that he wanted her son to have.
Janet Arvizo: For example, rabbit that he wanted Gavin to sleep with and then Gavin (intelligible) and he asked Gavin to call that rabbit Michael...
<fade to black, cue murder mystery dramatic music>
O'Brien (voiceover): At Neverland Ranch, it was common for Jackson to shower gifts on his special friends and their parents.
O'Brien (on screen): Alright. I'm curious now. What kind of gifts did Michael allegedly offer this kid?
Harris: Pat, my sources tell me that he received a Ford Bronco and a watch that HE thought cost $64,000. Now that leads to the defense question about the mother's motives. They say she was motivated only by money. She says her motives were pure.
Janet Arvizo: God handpicked me and the kids because He knew <voice tone changes, she rocks back and forth> that we weren't gonna fall for any of the money. That it was gonna be justice more than anything.
Unidentified Male: Well, that's what we're trying to do here.
O'Brien (voiceover): The defense has already challenged the mother's story, including Brazil, the letters, and the claim that Jackson spied on her.
Janet Arvizo: One time I remember uh...the kids telling me that up on top of the hill, there's like a little....like a thing? And Michael had taken up the kids up there to look IN my bedroom. ... Like a telescope thing, and...and I-I thought they were kidding. Michael wanted to see w-what I was doing in there.
O'Brien (voiceover): Why does the mother think Michael was watching HER? On the tape she says she thinks it may've been because she was starting to ask too many questions.
O'Brien (on screen): Michael Jackson's trial is set to begin January 31st. We will here more from her tomorrow.
