Attention to ALL MICHAEL JACKSON FANS!
My name is Delfim and I am the founder of the Portuguese Michael Jackson fan club: The Michael Jackson family www.michaeljackson.pt.vu/ and I would like to ask you the following:
WOULD YOU LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN A MUSIC-VÍDEO FOR MICHAEL JACKSON?
Let me explain:
MY BACKROUND:
I have recently finished the bachelor's degree in SOUND and IMAGE and I'm at the moment finishing the fourth year of the degree course. If you are interested in learn more about my work, you can see some of the works that I made in my course in this website: www.youtube.com/user/delvideo
For the final project of my course I want to do a music-video for Michael Jackson (this is not a Michael Jackson's music video. It is a music video made by me and other Michael Jackson fans, based on a Michael Jackson song, that will be given to Michael Jackson), and that's why I would like the FANS of MICHAEL JACKSON to participate! I don't want this to be just a work of mine to Michael, I want this to be a work from ALL OF US, to our KING Michael.
WHAT KIND OF MUSIC-VÍDEO WOULD IT BE:
The idea is to make a music-video from images sent by Michael Jackson fans all over the world. A video edited by me but filmed by each one of the fans that participate according with my instructions (e.g.: I will ask for fans to film themselves dancing/singing. I will also ask you to film personal items like MJ memorabilia). After all the shoots being made, the fans that are participating will send their tape to me, so that I and the people that will help me with the selection and editing can build a story around the music-video.
WHICH SONG:
The song that I choose to make a video it's UNBREAKABLE.
1) It's an outstanding song
2) Because it's from MJ's last album, Invincible. It's fairly recent and it's more tolerated a music video for a recent song/sound
3) The lyrics have everything to do with the message that Michael wants for his come back.
4) Because this can well be the song that you will hear before the SMASHING come back of our KING of music, showing what he is like when he does a COME-BACK. He will be stronger than ever and UNBREAKABLE!
PLUS:
The idea of the project is to get authorization by his music label to use the music officially for the film/final product that we will make, so that they can themselves as promotion... Our goal is, of course, to get this music-video on TV. This is not a promise of course, it's just a goal and a dream we all want to make it come true. And dreams command our lifes! Michael makes us dream! So let it make it true
Anyway, I bet Michael Jackson will be thrilled when he sees what we all have done with his song! I bet he will like it
SO WHAT ABOUT YOU?
DO YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROJECT?
There are many ways in which you can participate in this project. The most common way is to participate by sending footage. However there are some technical specifications (see bellow in 1) and deadlines to follow, but apart from that I think it is a great experience and you can end up in TV with Michael watching you ;-)!!! I know, it's a dream, but we have to dream first so that afterwards we can make it come true!
HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE:
1) Actor/Dancer/Camera-operator: You can participate by sending footage. I will send specific instructions to each fan that will participate. Each fan will make it's footage and will send to me the tape. ATTENTION: All films/footage must be made with a MINI-DV Camcorder and sent to me in PAL format.
2) Promoter/Assistant of production: You can also participate by promoting the idea on your country/area: pasting this message in forums, through fan club websites and fan club cooperation’s, explaining on you own language how everything works (all communications WITH ME must be either in English or Portuguese).
3) Consultant/Assistant of the director: You can give your ideas of what the video will be and about the story we can tell with it. The idea it's already made but we are flexible to change-it or modify it to a better one. All ideas are very welcome!
4) Web-designer that will make a web-site promoting the music video
5) Other tasks that may come up or that may be suggested by you to optimize / accelerate the process of production. I'm also open to ideas and suggestions.
Everyone who participates will have their name in the video CREDITS unless you prefer to stay anonymous. The name and email of those who participate will be part of the participants list in a letter that we will send to Michael Jackson together with the music video. This will be a GIFT from all of us to MICHAEL to say Thank you for all these years of inspiration, art and joy!
DEADLINES:
There are specific deadlines to complete this project. The main motive is that I'm including this project in my last year of graduation wish will give me tools/means that I will otherwise not have access, but it's also good in a way that we have to complete each one of us our task quick and swift so that the project does not hang on forever and the completion is done in due time before Michael Jackson launches his new album (and all the songs from the old are HIStory ;-)
DEADLINE FOR THE RECEPTION OF REGISTRATIONS OF FANS WILLING TO PARTICIPATE:

DEADLINE FOR THE RECEPTION OF VIDEO-TAPES WITH FAN FOOTAGE:
30 November
ATTENTION: These are deadlines, which means that there's no point sending/participating after those, but I encourage you to start communicating and afterwards start shooting and sending the tapes as soon as possible so that we do not delay the editing of the video.
I also ask for all of those who want to participate as promoters that start right away spreading the word and tell/forward/paste/publish this idea for every fan to have access to it all over the world! It is important to get fans moving as soon and as quick as possible so that we can successfully complete this project.
