¿Quien es Rod Serling?

Bueno,bueno...Rod Serling(1924-1975) fue el padre de una de las mejores series de los años 60,como los amantes de la sci-fi sabemos:THE TWILIGHT ZONE ,que poco tiene que ver con el remake de la misma serie se hizo en los 80',ni con la película con el mismo título.THE TWILIGHT ZONE marcó un precedente en la historia de la televisión.De los más de 200 episodios que se emitieron,más de 150 eran guiones de Rod Serling,quien además se encargaba de presentar y despedir cada capítulo con una narración,al estilo Alfred Hitchcock(quién empezó con su famoso Alfred Hitchcock presents... un año más tarde que TTZ).Threatened usa samples de la voz de RS precisamente sacados de estas narraciones introductorias a cada capítulo.Lo que pasa es que es como un puzzle:son trozos sacados de diferentes capítulos,incluso hay palabras sueltas que han puesto una al lado de la otra para crear una frase.Por ej.,una gran parte del Rod Serling Intro está sacado de "It's a good life",emitido el 11/03/1961,en la tercera temporda de la serie.Podéis encontrar la narración completa AQUI (Guardar destino como...)
y si os interesa el texto completo está en el siguiente mensaje llamado "Texto de It's a good life".Luego,el "Rod Serling outro" está sacado del episodio"In his image" del 01/03/1963,cuyo texto completo es :What you have just witnessed could be the end of a particularly terrifying nightmare. It isn't. It's the beginning. Although Alan Talbot doesn't know it, he is about to enter a strange new world, too incredible to be real, too real to be a dream. It's called the Twilight Zone.
Todo lo demás son retales de diferentes episodios("far corner" se pronuncia en Elegy,"never-Neverland" en The bewitchin' pool,etc...).Supongo que MJ debe ser un gran fan de la serie y por eso ha debido querer incluir la voz de RS en Threatened.
Ah,Rod Serling murió en junio de 1975 a raiz de un problema que surgió cuando le estaban practicando un by-pass coronario.

Texto de IT'S A GOOD LIFE

It's a Good Life

Tonight's story on The Twilight Zone is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction. This, as you may recognize, is a map of the United States, and there's a little town there called Peaksville. On a given morning not too long ago, the rest of the world disappeared and Peaksville was left all alone. Its inhabitants were never sure whether the world was destroyed and only Peaksville left untouched or whether the village had somehow been taken away. They were, on the other hand, sure of one thing: the cause. A monster had arrived in the village. Just by using his mind, he took away the automobiles, the electricity, the machines - because they displeased him - and he moved an entire community back into the dark ages - just by using his mind. Now I'd like to introduce you to some of the people in Peaksville, Ohio. This is Mr. Fremont. It's in his farmhouse that the monster resides. This is Mrs. Fremont. And this is Aunt Amy, who probably had more control over the monster in the beginning than almost anyone. But one day she forgot. She began to sing aloud. Now, the monster doesn't like singing, so his mind snapped at her, turned her into the smiling, vacant thing you're looking at now. She sings no more. And you'll note that the people in Peaksville, Ohio, have to smile. They have to think happy thoughts and say happy things because once displeased, the monster can wish them into a cornfield or change them into a grotesque, walking horror. This particular monster can read minds, you see. He knows every thought, he can feel every emotion. Oh yes, I did forget something, didn't I? I forgot to introduce you to the monster. This is the monster. His name is Anthony Fremont. He's six years old, with a cute little-boy face and blue, guileless eyes. But when those eyes look at you, you'd better start thinking happy thoughts, because the mind behind them is absolutely in charge. This is the Twilight Zone.

Pues no me pareció tan largo...claro que si no hablas inglés puede llegar a ser eterno

Si no mal recuerdo existe una parodia de dicho episodio (el del monstruo/niño) en uno de los episodios de los Simpsons desde que escuche Threatened y supe que era Rod Serling me parecio que habia relación....No sé si me equivoque pero estoy casi seguro que es la parodia de dicho episodio...no se si Eo o alguien que haya visto ese episodio de los Simpsons pueda corroborarmelo.....(en dicho capitulo Bart es el "monstruo" que lee mentes al cual todo Springfield teme... incluso convierte a Homero en una criatura horrenda solo porque no le agradó un pensamiento que tuvo)
