Hola a tod@s!!
I could not agree LESS with your review of Michael Jackson's new album, Invincible.
I realize you can like or dislike the tunes as much as you want, however there are several facts stated in your article that need further analysis. To just name a couple:
1) You said “It’s ironic that someone renowned for grooves and steps now makes music with beats so inflexible it’s virtually impossible to dance to them”: Well, I have to say that if it is "virtually impossible" for you to dance to up tempo songs like Unbreakable, You Rock My World or Invincible on the new album, there seems to be some kind of incompatibility between you and rhythm. This is like criticizing a Ferrari simply because it takes talent to handle it at high speed.
2) You said ” … relative disappointments like Bad and Dangerous sound like half successes…”: Again, I respect your personal opinion on these albums but, in case you didn’t know, let me inform you that these two albums have sold near 30 million copies EACH worldwide, and are among the top selling albums of ALL TIME. In addition, several cuts from both albums became number 1 hits. If these are relative disappointments to you, I wonder what it takes for you to call an album a great success; I guess your standards must be extremely high!!
I truly miss some objectivity when reviewing and rating a Michael Jackson album. Just in the first 4 fays after its release, Invincible has already sold over 3 million copies worldwide, and has become the number 1 album and several countries, where it has turned out to be the fastest selling Michael Jackson’s album of all time. Please, give the guy some credit. If you reviewed every album as fiercely as you have reviewed Invincible, I am sure none of them would get above C.
I look forward to contacting you again in the near future when this album has, once again, proven that Michael Jackson is still the undisputed King of Pop.
PS: By the way, check out the new Billboard issue later this week, I am sure you will be happy to see Invincible up on top. Not bad for a C- rated album, don’t you think?
