Actress Tatum O'Neal said she's "just as shocked as everyone else" by some of the things Michael Jackson said in that documentary Thursday night.
O'Neal told "Access Hollywood" she has "a great deal of respect for Michael Jackson as an artist and as a person. However, he has a very vivid imagination."
She said Jackson's comments about their friendship were "inaccurate."
Jackson had said he had gone to O'Neal's house. He said he got scared when she started to unbutton his shirt. He said he covered his face and she walked away.
O'Neal, now 39, said Jackson did come over to her house when her father was home. And, she says "at 12 years old, there was no way" she was capable "of being as mature or as sophisticated as he claimed" she was.
O'Neal, who won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for 1973's "Paper Moon," said her "heart goes out to Michael Jackson" and she wishes her "very best to him and his family."
The actress is the daughter of actor Ryan O'Neal, and ex-wife of tennis great John McEnroe.
