'Living With Michael Jackson' is well known by fans by now as being what was hyped as a truthful look into the world of Michael Jackson, but turned out to be the most heinous of betrayals. Now, it is being suggested that 'Living With Michael Jackson' may have been the trigger to the recent child molestation accusations.
Many sources, both in Michael's camp and in that of the accuser, seem to contain one consistent thread: The Bashir documentary seems to have been the vehicle that set the entire fiasco into motion. It all began with the discussion of the Neverland sleep overs with children and with Michael holding the hand of a cancer stricken boy. That boy is the one who is now accusing Michael of molestation.
According to Michael's defense, the child's mother demanded a fee for her son's appearance on the special. When that was refused, the relationship between Michael and the family went downhill. Those close to the mother's side report that she did not ask for payment. Instead, she says that Michael began to act strangely before the special and barred the family from Neverland.
The mother then hired the same lawyer who represented a boy in the 1993 molestation case. The Associated Press sources spoke on condition of anonymity, but say that they are in the position to know each sides versions. Repeated attempts to contact the mother have been unsuccessful.
