Is the Gloved One Now the Masked One?
It could be the most bizarre Jackson sighting yet: a man and a boy, strolling through Aspen, hiding behind ski-goggles.
Our sources in Colorado say the exclusive video you’ll see first on "Extra" shows Michael Jackson, hiding behind a ski mask on the streets of Aspen.
Jackson was spotted in the ski town over a period of 24 hours and if it is the pop star, he is with another unidentified young boy.
The two strolled down the streets unnoticed, stopping in Sharper Image and several other shops, while reportedly, Nation of Islam bodyguards stood in the distance.
Reports are swirling that the troubled King of Pop was in a Colorado rehab center for an addiction to painkillers.
Jackson was checked into a drug rehab center back in 1992, but the singer’s publicist says Michael is not fighting an addiction now, instead he is on vacation.
However, he is fighting a custody battle for two of his three children.
Rumors of the singer’s recent substance abuse treatments have spurred his ex-wife, Debbie Rowe to officially challenge her custody agreement with Jackson over their two children. Rowe is reportedly also worried about the kids, who are Jewish, and Michael’s involvement with the Nation of Islam.
Attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, who specializes in family law, tells "Extra" that the custody agreement Rowe signed when she divorced Jackson can be challenged, especially because of molestation charges facing Michael.
"There is no such thing as an enforceable custody order in California which is non modifiable," says Kaplan. "Because our court system says you always have to look at what is best for the child."
Jackson and Rowe have hired a retired judge to hear the case to keep it private. Today, that judge told "Good morning America" that this case will be handled like any other court case, and his decision stands.
"It's not only binding but you can appeal it to the Court of Appeal when you are done," said the Judge.
There is no word yet on a custody court date.
