Animation specialists were part of the team of investigators at Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch over the weekend while authorities searched the pop singer's home for evidence in his upcoming child molestation case. Jackson also voluntarily gave a DNA sample from the inside of his cheek to authorities on Saturday according to his attorney.
The animation specialists may turn out to be key to the case against Jackson. They were there to help create a computor image of Jackson's bedroom and the hall just outside of it. Investigators hope to reconstruct and verify the testimony of the alleged victim's brother who says he saw Jackson fondle the 14 year-old boy while he stood on the stairs just outside Jackson's bedroom.
The self proclaimed 'King of Pop' is accused of 10 charges including conspiracy, child abduction, molesting a child and giving the 14 year-old boy alcohol to induce sexual performance. He has pled not guilty on all ten counts.
The key question may be whether or not the victim's brother could have seen what he claims to have seen from the stairway. Jackson's defense team claims that the witness could not have seen anything inside the bedroom from the staircase because his view would have been blocked by boxes inside Jackson's room.
If the animation specialists can successfully reconstruct a model of the bedroom and the stairway, they may be able to test the truthfulness of the young boy's testimony.
'Where he [the alleged victim's younger brother] was positioned and what he saw — whether he was in position to see what happened or not, are going to be critical pieces of evidence at this trial,' said Court TV anchor Lisa Bloom.
Discovery in the case is due to end today while jury selection is slated to begin January 31st.
