I'm going to revive this thread so as not to create a new one ... I have a question.
A few days ago I was interested in knowing more about the Royal Concert, I knew that the idea that was originally raised for the setlist was to revive the Bad Tour but for some reason Kenny Ortega decided to do it the Dangerous Tour style. (
More info )
If it had been like the Bad Tour, with songs like Another Part Of Me, Dirty Diana, Rock With You, Bad, etc ... Logically, would you have used the Bad Tour costumes? and same scenario?
What would have happened to Jam ?, For example, that was before Wanna Be Startin Somethin.
Both songs have a very composed jacket as it is the opening song and it was common for MJ that the wardrobe with which the concert began is more "glamorous" or a little more worked than for the rest of the songs.
Would you have used both jackets? Jam's first, then WBSS's ... (It would be weird if it were like that.)
(I say this because, in the link above it says that the Bad Tour costumes would be used, but for Dangerous songs, the DWT costumes would be used)
Or would I just wear Jam's, underneath the silver shirt and pants from the Bad Tour and stay that way with WBSS.
I think maybe they would have become more attached to the Bad Tour outright, dropping Jam and letting Wanna Be Startin Somethin come first (even though in the supposedly official set list, Jam appears as the opening song).
And that would also be more logical since if they had used the Bad Tour stage, MJ would not have had the catapult for the start of Jam unless it was installed separately, idk.
I hope my question has been understood ... If someone has some information about it it would be great or else, I would like to read your opinions too

To my understanding it was going to be mostly bad tour costumes.... He also could have mixed and matched things (black jam jacket over silver shirt with the buckle pants for Jam) but I think it would have been mostly bad tour costumes. I think it would have been an amazing segway into the History tour. There he could have properly retired songs like Bad, Another part of me and Dirty Diana (which was brought back for TII). Any way back to your question, from my sources, it was originally gonna be 96' Mike in 1988 fits. That would have been awesome.
