So it finally comes.
This has project has been in the pipeline for years and in the physical making for almost a year itself. With Mottola fired and two other key issues resolved the green light was given to ITV, last week, to air the documentary and interview.
I am not going to divulge the contents, and ruin the surprise, so don't ask me to. Besides it is only two weeks away. What I will say is that what is contained in this documentary is going to catch you ALL by surprise and truly amaze you. This isn't just a PR exercise but a no holds barred, from everyone involved, piece that’s like has probably never been seen before. Prepare for some REAL news and insight.
As for Martin Bashir he is a good guy with his heart in the right place but still pulls no punches and scrutinizes everything while still retaining an air of integrity. The key to this is he is English (no offence intended to non-English people) and thus, be it through his accent or otherwise, appears to carry more authority and gravitas. You'll believe the man is serious, he appears serious, he is serious... the subject is serious. This is key in order to deflect the kind of Oprah syndrome from this piece. I hope you understand what I am trying to say.... Additionally, you're never find this gentleman trying to rewrite history white in colour - I refer to the infamous, and I paraphrase, '...You were kind of the black Osmonds...'
This from no other than Larry King a supposed heavyweight American interviewer... about as heavyweight as the froth on my beer. Altogether now 'One Bad Apple' (1971) (written by a Jackson, coincidently, for the J5), I want You Back (1969). mat.gif
Mr. King that is why you never got, and will never get, this opportunity, which you so desire.
The interview will be syndicated worldwide - while not yet finalised in the US look to CBS.
I promised you 2003 would be the return. The musical phenomenon called Michael Jackson is back, minus the drag, so put on your seatbelts on and enjoy the ride. """
