In 1992, as promotions manager for Sony Music I had the huge honour to welcome MJ for his Dangerous Tour in Munich (June 27). With my colleagues, we offered him his gold and platinum albums in Switzerland. In this picture MJ is holding Sony swiss CEO’s gift: a lookalike puppet (WTF!!!). I admired MJ so much, when he passed away in June 2009, I couldn’t stop crying the whole night, I was in shock, I realised how much I grew up with his music and fascinating live performances. I his music, his singing, his values, his perfectionism in the studio - he would record 170 takes of the same guitar riff… One little story I remember about the worlwide release of “Dangerous”: at that time all CD factories around the world were booked to manufacture and release his new album simultaneously, this to avoid bootlegs. But MJ was being 2 weeks late in giving the masters to Sony. NY CEO called him telling him they couldn’t wait anymore, MJ replied he had a hard time choosing amongst 150 songs he had recorded!!! One of my fav song is Dirty Diana, where MJ explored a more rock sound, I the building tension of the guitar!!
