SANTA MARIA, Calif. — The family of Michael Jackson's (search) accuser heaped praise on the singer and called him a father figure in a video shown to the jury in the pop star's child molestation case Friday.
"(My son) was the one who asked him, 'Can I call you daddy?' and he said 'Of course,'" the accuser's mother said in the video. At another point the boy's brother said, "He actually seemed more fatherly than like our biological father." Throughout, the family used the words "nice," "humble," "funny" and "fatherly" to describe Jackson.
The video was recorded Feb. 19-20, 2003, two weeks after the airing of a TV documentary that damaged Jackson's image because it showed him holding hands with the boy and saying he allowed children to sleep in his bed.
It was presented as the 18-year-old sister of the accuser testified for a second day. Prosecutors allege that Jackson's associates coerced the family into making the video by holding them captive.
On Thursday, the accuser's sister faced the singer for the first time since her family left his Neverland ranch two years ago, testifying that Jackson's associates tried to control her family's whereabouts for a month and that Jackson served alcohol to her brother.
During the playing of the video, Jackson appeared to dab at his eyes with a handkerchief. His mother, Katherine, wiped away tears as the accuser's family talked about how good Jackson was. Also present were Jackson's sister LaToya and brother Jackie. Jurors took many notes as the video unfolded.
The boy, 13 at the time, recalled in the video his first visit to Neverland and how he asked Jackson if he could sleep in his room. Jackson said it was OK if his parents gave permission, which they did, the boy said.
He said he and Jackson got into a debate about who would sleep on the bed and who would sleep on the floor.
"He told me you sleep on the bed. ... Michael finally said, 'OK, if you love me you'll sleep on the bed,'" the boy said.
The boy's mother laughingly interjected, "That's so unfair."
The boy said Jackson slept on the floor and several other people also slept in the room that night.
The video showed the family members smiling and sitting as a group in front of a decorative backdrop. The mother occasionally whispered to the boy.
She said her son has a rare blood type, O-negative, and that Jackson made sure there was enough blood for transfusions during the boy's treatment for cancer.
The defense contends the video supports its claim that the family is only after Jackson's money and that they only accused him of wrongdoing when he stopped giving them money and gifts.
Prosecutors allege that the boy was molested sometime after the video was made.

- she had to admit she lied.. june 2003 she went to DR and complained about headaches , mez said u went to set up damages claim. she said it was her grandmother with her but finally admited she called grandmother "Ma" to say it was her mother with her.
- asked aobut interview with social workers in this case right after bashir, she said she told them she somtimes brought friends with her and mother knew everything.. she had to admit on the stand both of those things WERE NOT TRUE
- also said her mother NEVER engaged in any fund raising on behalf of gavin said it was all her father
- just before break asked bout JC PENNY said she was too young and wasnt involved in that.
- mez's qestions are tough but being respectful.
- her answer to JCPENNY was a little quick

SANTA MARIA, California, EE.UU. - La familia del acusador de Michael Jackson alabó al cantante y lo calificó de figura paterna en un vídeo mostrado el viernes durante el juicio por acusaciones de abuso de menores que se sigue aquí al astro de la música pop.
"(Mi hijo) fue el que le preguntó si podía llamarlo papá, y el respondió: 'Por supuesto'", dijo la madre del acusador en el vídeo. En otro momento, el hermano del niño comentó: 'De hecho parecía más paternal que nuestro padre biológico'". En todo el vídeo, la familia utilizó las palabras "agradable", "humilde", "simpático" y "paternal" para describir a Jackson.
El vídeo fue grabado los días 19 y 20 de febrero del 2003, dos semanas después de transmitirse un documental televisivo que dañó la imagen pública de Jackson porque lo presentó tomado de las manos con el niño y diciendo que permitía a los niños dormir en su lecho.
En la misma sesión del viernes, la hermana de 18 años del acusado prestó declaración por segundo día consecutivo.
La fiscalía afirma que los asociados de Jackson obligaron a la familia a hacer el vídeo debido a que estaba virtualmente en cautiverio.
El jueves, la hermana del acusador vio directamente al cantante por primera vez desde que su familia salió de su hacienda Neverland hace dos años. La hermana declaró que los asociados de Jackson trataron de controlar los movimientos de su familia durante un mes y que Jackson había servido alcohol a su hermano.
Durante la proyección del vídeo, Jackson pareció secarse los ojos con un pañuelo. Su madre Katherine se enjugó las lágrimas cuando la familia hablaba acerca de lo bueno que era Jackson.
También estaban presentes la hermana de Jackson, La Toya, y su hermano Jackie. Los miembros del jurado tomaron frecuentes notas a medida que se presentaba el vídeo.
El niño, que tenía trece años entonces, recordó en el vídeo su primera visita a Neverland y cómo le pidió permiso a Jackson para dormir en su habitación.
Jackson dijo que estaba bien si sus padres le daban permiso, cosa que estos hicieron, dijo el niño.
Agregó que luego hubo un debate acerca de quién dormiría en la cama y quién en el suelo.
"El me dijo que durmiese en la cama", dijo el niño, y agregó que Jackson durmió esa noche en el suelo y que otras personas durmieron también esa noche en la habitación del cantante.

The mother, her hair carefully coifed and wearing fashionable makeup, repeatedly spoke of the miracle of Jackson coming into their life.
"It's a wish come true to see my children interact with a father role model," she declared.
She spoke of abuse by her ex-husband and said she felt a responsibility to make sure that her children were safe.
"When they are with Michael, he spreads his wings and my children have happiness they never have had in their life. And he hasn't left me out. I appreciate him with all my heart," she said.
The boy who is now accusing Jackson gave him credit for helping to cure his cancer.
"We were driving up the hill and he told me, 'You need to get better.' He told me, 'You need to eat up all those cancer cells like Pac-Man.' I never forgot that," the boy said.
At one point, the mother spoke about money and financial problems that have plagued them.
"We know what it is to be poor but in all the time with Michael there are no money problems. He fulfills our needs," she said.
She said of Bashir, "He took a beautiful relationship and spun it out of control. God works through people and so does the devil."
But when Mesereau questioned the sister on the stand, she insisted that no one in her family has ever seen the documentary.
Asked about her mother's statements about how poor they were, the witness said, "She was just trying to make it more dramatic. There was a script."
"So are you saying everything you said on the tape was memorized?" asked Mesereau.
"Not everything," the girl said.
