Billboard: New Janet album scheduled for 2008
A new album by Janet is scheduled to be released sometime in 2008, according to the latest issue of Billboard magazine.
The July 14 issue of the magazine contains a listing of all album releases currently scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2007, and it also lists Janet among the artists who have albums scheduled to come out sometime next year.
The magazine does not give any other details, such as which record label the album will be released by.
Ne-Yo again confirms that he is writing songs for Janet
Ne-Yo has again confirmed in a new interview with MTV.com that he has written lyrics for Janet.
The R&B singer-songwriter had also told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch last month that he was scheduled to work with her sometime this year.
No other details were given.
Producer Syience working on Janet's new album
Up-and-coming producer Syience is working on tracks for Janet's new album, he told SOHH.com in an exclusive interview.
The Flint, Michigan producer is best known for working on tracks for Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Ne-Yo, who had also been previously reported to have been working on a new project with Janet.
Aside from Janet, Syience is also currently working on new projects with Alicia Keys, Cee-Lo Green, Lupe Fiasco, and Amy Winehouse, among others.
The current list of producers whose names have been mentioned in conjunction with Janet's new album include LA Reid, Ne-Yo, Jazze Pha, Pharrell Williams, and Syience. Each of the producers are best known for their work in R&B and hip-hop music.
No official announcements about Janet's new album have yet been made.

Janet is currently working on new tracks with Canadian producer Scott Storch, according to the new issue of In Touch Weekly.
This evening's episode of television show E! News reported on the contents of the new issue of the magazine, which Janet also appears on the cover of. According to E! News, the magazine says that Janet has been in the studio lately with Storch working on her new album. E! did not mention any other producers that Janet is working with. The issue of In Touch is on newsstands now.
If the report is true, this would not be the first time that Storch has worked with Janet. He was a producer of both "Island Life" and "(And She Said) Take Me Now," which Janet recorded with Justin Timberlake. Storch also has a vast and diverse discography of music that he has produced for a number of other well-known artists.

Atlanta-based hip-hop music producer Polow Da Don revealed in a recent interview with Rap-Up TV that he has just gotten started working on new tracks for Janet's upcoming album.
"We're gonna put her back in the club," Polow said in the interview. "I sent her some tracks and she said off the top, she's like, 'I want the hard stuff. I want to dance, I want uptempo, I want club, I want hip.'"
Polow has previously produced tracks for Ludacris ("Runaway Love"), Fergie ("London Bridge" & "Glamorous"), and Kelis ("Blindfold Me"), among others.

Como ya sabíamos, la nueva discográfica de Janet es Island def jam. Ahora es un poco más oficial ya que lo anuncia la revista billboard. Han hablado con Jermaine y se lo ha confirmado. Para mi lo más importante es que dice que el disco no está siendo supervisado por él (que está trabajando con mariah) sino por L.A. Reid.

Janet Jackson has followed her boyfriend Jermaine Dupri from Virgin to Island Def Jam, Billboard has learned. "She's on Island, but it's more or less [Def Jam CEO Antonio "L.A." Reid's] project," Dupri says. "I let him deal with that on a day-to-day basis. He's going to A&R that project, too. Janet's record is one that he's wanted to do for a long time. He's very passionate about it.
Jackson's departure from Virgin comes in the wake of two consecutive commercial disappointments: 2004's "Damita Jo" and last year's "20 Y.O." Her departure from the label was widely rumored after Dupri exited the company late last year to become president of Island Urban.
As for the direction of Jackson's as-yet-untitled album, Dupri says, "I don't really know what he's got in mind at this point. His past record isn't shabby so I'm going to let him do what he's going to do. I'm going to do [the new] Mariah [Carey album], and we're going to make it seem like we're in competition to see who's going to have the biggest album of the year."
There is no release date yet for the Jackson album, although rumors suggest it may be ready before the end of the year.
In related news, Dupri will release his autobiography, "Young, Rich and Dangerous: My Life in Music," Oct. 16 via Simon & Schuster. The book was co-authored by Samantha Marshall.

mariah parece fijo que es este año, pero lo de Janet no está tan claro. De todas formas, si saliesen a la vez, a priori Mariah tendría las de ganar. El emancipation of mimi ha sido un exitazo en usa y si sigue por esa línea igual vuelve a repetir exito. janet viene de dos fracasos, Y si hace algo verdaderamente interesante creo que tendría posibilidades de triunfar de nuevo porque eso de los comebacks a la gente le gusta un montón.
A mi como lo que he oido del emancipation no me llama la atención, y encima mariah está trabajando con dupri pues no espero que me vaya a hacer algo que me mate de bueno. Pero en el de janet, aunque lo lleve reid, yo creo que al final alguna canción del dupri también va a haber, cosa que no me gustaría. Yo de quien soy fan entre las dos es de janet, pero incluso de ella ya a las alturas de la pelicula que estamos y con lo que ha hecho ultimamente, o hace un disco a su altura o no lo compro. Yo otra vez con algo como el 20YO no caigo y no me pienso molestar en ir hasta una tienda de discos a comprarlo.

vaya pelucón!!. no es que le quede mal pero le queda raro. Y eso que con rizos ya ha estado otras veces (como en la etapa del janet. que eran algo parecidos a estos). De todas formas la que es guapa, es guapa y janet ya se puede poner un mocho en la cabeza que da igual, es impresionante.
Por cierto, no se la ve tan gorda como parecía en las fotos del 4 de julio, por lo que me inclino a pensar que estaban retocadas.
